In Poland, we say:
“What if we just left it all behind and headed to the Bieszczady?”

Polish people use this expression to dream of adventure and freedom, because the Bieszczady are a region of gentle, peaceful mountains, far from stress and everyday life. However, you don’t need to quit your job or take a long vacation — just a few days in the Bieszczady Mountains are enough to soak up their unique atmosphere. Here you’ll find wild mountain meadows, misty valleys, and forests where you might spot deer, foxes, bison, and sometimes even bears.
For centuries, the Lemkos and Boykos lived here, leaving behind wooden churches, small villages, and a peaceful rhythm of life.
And the Cossacks? Their spirit — free and a little wild — still lingers over these mountains… and it’s here, at Chutor Kozacki, that we’ll be celebrating our wedding in a relaxed, Bieszczady-style atmosphere.
Below, you’ll find some ideas for how to spend your time in the Bieszczady Mountains, either before or after the wedding.
